Pretoria, South Africa - March 10 2011. The fundraising campaign, due to be launched towards mid-year and which is primarily aimed at Old Boys and past Parents, was given an enormous boost by a donation of R1 million from David and Philip Chamberlain. Although neither is an Old Boy nor past parent, their generosity stems from their strong belief in the importance of excellent education for the future needs of the country. The campaign slogan "An investment in Boys High is an investment in South Africa", is something that they fully endorse.
The fundraising drive was deemed essential some years ago in order for Pretoria Boys High to continue to be a leading, relevant South African School. In line with its one hundred year old philosophy of providing an holistic education, the money raised by this campaign will go towards improving and expanding existing academic, cultural and sporting facilities, doing needed maintenance on the magnificent but aging buildings and grounds and providing financial assistance to those who are entitled to attend the School but who may be experiencing financial difficulties.
