It is with sadness that we record the passing of Deidre Hickman on the 25th May at the age of 79. A member of staff at the school in the 1980s and 90s. Deidre will be remembered as an English and Geography teacher at Pretoria Boys High School who took an intense interest in cricket and rugby at the school and was a fervent supporter of the First Teams in both of these sports. Her book of poetry commenting on the fortunes of the Boks “Rugby Rhymes” was published in 2004 after her retirement from the school.
At her funeral a eulogy was delivered by Chris Lee with input from Eugene Ashton.
Deidre is survived by her daughter Angela and her grandson Jonathan.
