1948 – 2012
Derrick John Harrison passed away from cancer on the 5th December 2012. He had retired from the National Treasury in November 2008. He happily enjoyed three years of his retirement before he became ill.
Derrick obtained a B.Com and honours degree from Unisa in 1984. He was married to Eileen (nee McCusker) PGHS 1967 for 42 years.They had two great sons. Graeme a dental technologist, who has his own lab in Cape Town and Shaun a CA who is a CFO for Glencore mining group in Chile. Shaun matriculated from PBHS exactly thirty years after Derrick in 1996. Rugby and cricket played a pivotal role in Derrick’s school life.
He always spoke very fondly of his time at Boys High and was very proud of his old school.
