It is with sadness that we have to inform yourselves of the passing of our father, Professor Gerard van Noort on the 28 August 2021 in Krugersdorp at the age of 87.
He was born in Pretoria on the 17 March 1934 where he proudly attended Pretoria High School for Boys Arcadia House , with his brother Dion from 1947 to 1951.
On leaving PBHS he completed his understudies at the University of Stellenbosch obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture in 1955. Thereafter he went onto receive a doctorate from the UCLA in 1962 and a Master of Business Leadership from the University of South Africa in 1977.
In 1981, he was appointed as Head of Department to the Faculty of Food Sciences at the University of Stellenbosch. He retired in April 1994 at the age of 60.
He married Dorianne Rosemary Thomson in 1959 and later Alwina Kok in 1985.
He is survived by his three children Neil, Diane and Cecile and his 4 grandchildren Kay-Lee, Brandon, Alec and Liam.
We will miss you Dad.
