As a family we are very sad to let you know that Ian Harrop-Allin (younger brother of George and Anton Harrop-Allin) and father to Shaun, husband to Linda and step-father to Glen and Barbara sadly passed away on the 13 March 2012 after bravely fighting illness for 6 weeks in the Zuid Afrikaans Hospital. He was well looked after in hospital and had family with him right until the end when he slipped away peacefully.
Ian was a second generation boarder in Solomon House following in the footsteps of his father George Harrop-Allin (Snr). He loved the school dearly and made certain that his son Shaun also got to experience life as a boarder in Solomon House. Ian was still regularly seen on the sports fields of the school watching rugby games, especially the annual Affies games.
He attended Boys High from 1960-1963 (4 years) before leaving to complete his schooling at Capital College in 1964.
He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
