GARDEN ROUTE DISASTER RELIEF

Dear Old Boy

We are sure you are aware of the devastation that has ravaged the Garden Route over the past 48 hours.

It is reported that some 10 000 people have been evacuated from their homes and major parts of the towns of Plettenberg Bay and Knysna are, quite simply, gone.

Many big corporate companies in South Africa are rising to the occasion providing relief where they can and we would like to provide a facility for the public to also lend a hand. We appeal to the Old Boys of Pretoria Boys High School to help in any capacity to give some comfort to those who lost everything in the fires.

A drop off point at the Pretoria High School Old Boys Club at Hofmeyr Park has been arranged for any donations. Items will be collected on 13 June 2017 and taken to the Garden Route.

CemAir (the airline that flies from Johannesburg to Plettenberg Bay) has agreed to take any goods in aid of the people in the affected areas on their flights free of charge and are making arrangements for trucks to take down goods that cannot be placed in their aircrafts.

The collection of items will be co-ordinated by Old Boy Steven Schnetler (2010 – SCH) and his sister, Sam Schnetler.
