OLD BOYS WEEKEND 2015
Dear Old Boy
We take great pleasure in announcing that Robin Jackman will be our Guest Speaker at the 96th Annual Old Boys’ Dinner this year.
Robin Jackman was born on August 13, 1945, in Shimla. Jackman, who had a long run-up and a strong follow-through, is best remembered for the abandonment of a Test match in West Indies.Jackman played in four Tests and fifteen ODIs for England from 1974 to 1983. He was a seam bowler and useful tail-end batsman.During a first-class career lasting from 1966 to 1982, he took 1,402 wickets. He was a member of the Surrey side that won the County Championship in 1971, and also played for Western Province in South Africa in 1971-72, and for Rhodesia between 1972-73 and 1979-80.
Mention Robin Jackman’s name to a youth who knows what a cricket bat is and the most likely reaction would be “that commentator with a gruffy voice.” Jackman in the new millennium has become synonymous with his crackling voice on air- a voice that’s easily recognisable and popular, especially in South Africa where he has settled with family since retirement from his playing career.

Founders’ Day Assembly
Old Boys are invited to attend the Founders’ Day Assembly at Pretoria Boys High School wearing a jacket and tie. Tea will be served in the Media Centre at 08h30 and Old Boys may walk around the school thereafter. Assembly will start at 09h35 at the front of the school and will finish at 10h30.
OLD BOYS’ GOLF DAY 2015
This year the Annual Old Boys’ Golf Day will be held at the Pretoria Country Club on 5 June and will be an open event. We look forward to welcoming ladies and gentlemen who are not Old Boys of Pretoria Boys High School to enjoy the day with us.
The Pretoria Country Club has recently hosted the Tshwane Open and has a history dating back to 1910.The golf course underwent a major re-design in 2004/2005 by the Gary Player Group and is currently rated in the Top 50 courses in the country.
All Pretoria Boys High School Old Boys’ Association Life Members who attend the golf day will receive a Limited Edition Golf Towel.
Caddies and carts must please be booked through the Association. Kindly note that there are a limited amount of carts available – please book early to avoid disappointment.

On Saturday 6 June 2015 Old Boys are invited to support the Pretoria Boys High School hockey and rugby teams as they compete against St Johns at Pretoria Boys High School during the day.
