CORRESPONDENCE FROM OLD BOY
Many thanks to Old Boy Klaus Schiess (Class of 1957) who heard our call to update us on news and whereabouts of our PBHS Old Boys.
“Dear PBHSOB Association
When I turned 80 I was settled with having lived 20 years each in my home country Switzerland and in South Africa, with another 40years in USA – 35 of them in California.
After agreeing to live for a year in Switzerland to be with my offspring, we have settled now for good (I hope) nogal in French speaking Switzerland near Geneva . I have to re-learn the language which was my weakest subject at school in the Swiss-German speaking part where I grew up.
I am still kicking and entering the circuit of ITF 85+ tennis tournaments. This after surviving 24 years of esophagus cancer and last year a little encore with colon cancer and a reconditioned heart with two stents (as I was apparently playing tennis singles matches in hot weather with 99% blocked heart arteries). I have left instructions not to bounce a tennis ball next to my coffin, they may just have to go home again!
Alles van die beste.
Klaus Schiess”
Thank you Mr Schiess! You are setting an example for all of us!
