The Association has been notified of the passing of Leon Verdoorn, Matric 1976. After finishing at Brooklyn Primary School Leon started at PBHS. He was an extremely talented sportsman and his successes included: 1973 Inter-schools athletic team, 1974 School athletics team & First XI Cricket, 1975 1st Team Hockey (awarded colours) and 1st Team Cricket (awarded colours), 1976 1st Team Hockey (awarded colours) and 1st Cricket XI (awarded colours and awarded Northern Transvaal colours). Other sporting highlights included playing Nuffield cricket and going on the first overseas tour of the hockey side which played in the Public School Festival in Oxford.
Leon became the top bowler at the Old Boys Club and later went on to become its manager, a post he filled for 8 years.
