Neil David Parsons 1971-2022 (Class of 1988) It is with great sadness that I would like to inform you of the passing of Neil Parsons in Berlin, Germany on 10 May 2022. Neil attended Boys High from 1984-1988, and was a dayboy in Sunnyside House. He was a keen sportsman and competed for the school at hockey, cricket, and chess. His big heart and personality on and off the field and competitive nature were traits that served him well throughout his life. He played premier league club hockey and cricket for Irene villagers as well as provincial hockey for Northerns. After Boys High, Neil completed his auditing articles in Pretoria, before entering the business world as a finance professional. After working in Gauteng, he moved to the UK and became financial manager at NM Rothschilds, a well-known London based bank. It was whilst he was living in London that he started scuba diving as a hobby, and through this met his future wife Sandra, a German marine biologist, and had 2 wonderful boys, Liam and Aidan. They decided to get married and move their family to Cape Verde and open a dive charter, dive shop, and restaurant on the beach in Sal – definitely living the dream. The family then later moved to Berlin, Germany. Neil is survived by his wife Sandra, sons Liam and Aidan, brothers Steven and Martin, and father, John.
